I’m trying to figure out this situation. Administrative processing is underway for an application filed from a third country, the embassy requested additional evidence, the passport was returned to me — and now I need to stay in the third country and wait for the review. Six months have already passed — is that a normal timeframe for this or should I take some action? Who has gone through administrative processing from a third country with their passport in hand — how did it end for you?

Thanks — that’s encouraging, I guess. So the senator won’t really speed things up if the matter is already with the State Department for review? Or is it still worth filing a request?

A congressman can be more helpful once the review is finished — he can’t influence the Presidential Administration itself (АП).
