How it went
My husband and I entered on a tourist visa; a few days before the six-month permitted stay expired we applied for a student visa (in July of last year, incidentally — we waited until the last moment because one school took a very long time to respond, but we started about a month before). We run a language school, FYI. Exactly three months later (to the day) it was approved; during that time we were polishing the EB-1 case for filing. An RFE arrived a few days ago (we haven’t seen the text yet). We’ll handle issues as they come
