How it all happened
Friends, I’m happy to share the good news about the visa being pasted into my passport. Today I received my passport from the consulate in Sweden with an EB-2 NIW visa! I’ll note right away — the 75-country pause did not affect me. But it affects my husband, who still hasn’t been granted a visa. After the interview on March 19 I was put into administrative processing (AP), which lasted a month — on April 20 I received a letter from the consulate asking me to send the passport ASAP. Today I got the passport back with the visa! A bit of backstory — I am an Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Compliance Expert. The case was filed in December 2023, we received an RFE in May 2025, approval in August 2025. Documents were sent to the NVC in November 2025, the interview date was sent around late January–early February 2026.
Main insight
“Administrative processing can delay the visa issuance process, but it’s important to follow the consulate’s instructions and promptly send the required documents.”
