Who rents accommodation on a temporary rental contract (contratto transitorio) with children, for example from September to May? With this contract you can’t obtain residenza (registered residence). How did you enroll your children in school and register with a doctor without residenza/registered address in Italy? We can’t find a long-term rental, so we’re interested in this option.
Actually, with a contratto transitorio you can establish residence, as long as it isn’t explicitly forbidden in the contract - the main thing is to agree with the owner. Here in Turin a few people arranged it that way, and it didn’t affect obtaining the alodzhativy (алоджативы) at all. About school - children are enrolled without a registered address; you take the student file from the Russian school, have it translated, and go to the nearest scuola - they are obliged to accept.

Thanks — you put my mind at ease about the school; I thought they wouldn’t accept me without a registered address. And about the owner, as we agreed: does he need to give his written consent himself, or is it enough that the contract doesn’t forbid it?

About the owner — you cannot be denied residency unless the contract explicitly states a prohibition. If he does not object, ask to have his consent written as a separate clause in the contract or obtain a separate signed letter. About the school documents, I will add: I took the personal file from Russia, translated it into Italian myself and printed it. I showed both the translations and the originals; the school kept the translation for review, and no one was bothered that there was no apostille.

We were told that they don’t agree to long-term contracts when there are children precisely to avoid litigation later — you can only evict a family with a child after a couple of years of court cases under local law. That’s why transitorio (транзиторио) remains the only workable option. I’m wondering: will the civil registry office (ZAGS) require a separate consent from the owner, or is it enough that the prohibition isn’t explicitly written in the contract?

At the registry office they required the owner’s written consent — verbal consent was not enough.

Vaccinations are absolutely necessary — you won’t be allowed into school without them.

About school documents - for children under 16 they asked us for the child’s and parent’s codice fiscale (tax code), passport, and the vaccination record translated into Italian. There were no apostilles. But with older children it’s a different story - there you need a certificate from the Russian school listing subjects and hours and the report card, and that translation must be notarized.
