I emailed the kvestura (квестура) about some documents. Has anyone done this — do they even reply to emails, or is it pointless to wait and I should go in person?
Well, it’s hit or miss — one time they replied after a week, another time there was total silence.

They almost never reply to regular email — I’ve checked. If you want a chance, send it via PEC (certified email); then at least by law they have to respond, but it can still take a month.

Listen, PEC (certified email) worked better for me than regular mail — they replied once in three weeks to a request about the ricevuta. But if it’s completely quiet, don’t wait: go and book an appuntamento; things get sorted in person in a couple of hours instead of months of correspondence. And yes, take all your paperwork with you, even the stuff you think you won’t need.
