Can anyone tell me if there are currently cases where IT people on O-1 aren’t being sent for administrative processing? I want to understand whether this is happening widely for IT workers or if there are exceptions.
I had this — at the interview the officer looked at the case as if he’d never seen it before, asked for a printed CV which I didn’t have with me, then handed out a yellow sheet. After that, the status check showed Administrative Processing, but there was no request for documents or any letter, just silence. It feels like the administrative processing procedure isn’t recorded or mentioned anywhere, as if it doesn’t exist — only when you dig into the topic do you start to understand that this is a very real thing for IT people without a security background.

They send them in Yerevan too — I had an interview for an approved O-1, they sent it for review. They promised to email some sort of questionnaire and then for us to wait for instructions. In the end, no questionnaire, no instructions — just silence for a long time. Looks like it doesn’t depend much on the specialty.
