It feels like almost everyone is getting an RFE right now. Several people I talk to have received RFEs in the past couple of months. Is this actually a wave, or is it just my circle?
Of the six who applied in the last 7 months, only two received an RFE.

Six people — that’s a meaningless sample, honestly. What I’ve heard about the Nebraska center: for EB-1A there’s been a real uptick in RFEs since the start of the year; in some months they report as high as 40–50% versus the previous 25–30%. NIW is holding differently. Basically, you need to look by category, not at the overall picture.

Just remembered — my lawyer said back in the spring that Nebraska has been tightening its criteria since March–April, and membership in associations is under the microscope. I had an RFE myself; I spent three months responding — they approved it anyway in the end)

Nebraska for EB-1A is currently the strictest — the Texas center handles the same cases more leniently.
