Is it true that for a D visa to the consulate all documents must be submitted in two copies? I can’t find any definite confirmation of this anywhere.
When I applied for my D visa, they didn’t give me the annotation at all — and at the questura no one asked about that letter when I applied. I’m not 100% sure about the two copies; they accepted our documents in a single copy. And there was also the question about passport copies — all 45 pages or only the filled ones? I only took the filled pages; everything was accepted fine.

Thanks — the passport info is helpful; I was actually worried about that. And did the consulate issue the annotation to you themselves, or did you request it separately?

I number each document with a pencil in the corner and make an inventory — the consulate took them along with the packet.

Questura and the consulate are different agencies; they don’t communicate with each other: the questura is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the consulate is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We prepared each document in three copies — we didn’t take any extras, but it felt safer. If three isn’t an option, at least have a copy notarized and get an apostille.

In Yerevan I received a DN — all documents were in two copies: the originals plus the duplicates. At the visa centre they checked the originals and kept the copies permanently, returning the originals.

An “annotation” is an A4 sheet that the consulate gives with the visa; not everyone has one.

In the end, it looks like there’s no single standard - some people have 1 copy, others 3, and all were accepted. I’m curious: when they go to the kvestura (квестура) later, do they bring the exact same documents, or do they have to assemble a separate package?
