Administrative processing when applying from a third country — has anyone had a visa issued without AP?

I’m curious — have there ever been cases where, during AP (administrative processing), someone reapplied in a third country and they issued it there without the administrative check? Or once AP starts, does it follow you everywhere and will they refuse you in the third country too? Has anyone dealt with this, or is it totally unrealistic?

I’ve heard it varies — sometimes a case sits in “AP” (administrative processing) for years, and then it turns out the consulate hadn’t really been handling it properly. Trying in a third country can make sense, but no one can say in advance how it’ll turn out; it’s all individual. Don’t rush, discuss your options with a lawyer first)

Well, sometimes Administrative Processing (AP) never really starts — the case just sits there, and then the consulate writes that they’re no longer handling your case. So sometimes it’s worth trying in a third country, but you can’t predict that in advance. By the way, there was an article about clearance and DS-5535 (🔍 DS-5535, MANTIS и Clearance: что это и почему от этого зависит ваша виза); it might help you understand how these checks work. The main thing is don’t get yourself worked up for now, hang in there)

By the way, there’s often a terminological mess here - administrative processing isn’t a check, it’s processing. Both getting a visa sticker in three days and years of waiting for clearance all fall under that term. The main thing is, don’t get yourself worked up; everyone’s situation turns out differently )
