I have administrative processing, my husband's visa was issued — does that happen?

My husband’s F-1 status changed to “Issued,” but my F-2 is still under administrative processing. Both passports are currently at the consulate. Can they process us separately? Is this normal?

yeah, that happens, it happened to us too when we applied — one passport was processed faster, the other hung in review for a couple more weeks. nothing to worry about, their systems just check independently. wait a bit, it’ll most likely change for you soon too)

Don’t worry so much, they really do check passports independently. I saw a case where the main applicant’s visa was already ready, while the dependent’s stayed in review for another week or two — they ended up issuing everything too. The main thing now is that both passports are already with them, so it’s just a matter of waiting )

F2 always goes as a separate verification branch, that’s standard. Usually, after the main one is marked ‘issued’, the dependent one is closed within a couple of weeks.

that’s normal, they have parallel systems - read about 221g on the forum 🏛 Административная проверка 221(g): вам не отказали, но визу не дали
