Is an expert letter a recommendation letter? Please explain what it is. I don’t understand how it relates to the EB-1 criteria that USCIS recognizes.
The letters don’t need to come from U.S. citizens, but from recognized experts in their field — those who can confirm your qualifications against the specific criteria. It seems more important when the experts are from different countries, not just Americans — that shows the recognition isn’t limited to a single country. And if you have recommendation letters for an O-1, they can quite reasonably be reused for an EB-1, provided the content meets the criteria.
