An RFE arrived and now we need to revise the role letters. The letter from the CEO was pretty detailed — it seemed like everything was already covered, but apparently it wasn’t enough. I don’t understand what else can be added, which EB-1 criteria USCIS credits in these types of letters, and what they focus on first. Has anyone had a similar experience — what did you have to add?
Well, what’s important here is exactly what the CEO wrote — if it’s just generic phrases about leadership and responsibility, that won’t really cover the critical role. Roughly speaking, the officer needs specifics: which decisions depended on you, which projects wouldn’t have moved without you, impact figures if any. When I went over my own case, the strongest recommendation letters were those that laid out one specific project with metrics, not a list of job titles.
Hang in there, an RFE (Request for Evidence) isn’t the end - just add concrete details and metrics, you’ll be fine)
IMO don’t try to make it a new case — it’s just a response to an RFE. Rework the CEO letter with specifics: revenue impact; which decisions were stalled without you; headcount reporting to you. The officer won’t accept generic phrases about leadership — emphasize your critical role.
