How it all went
Hi everyone) I don’t write here often, but I really want to share the news) On April 23 we received our passports with visas pasted in after the EB-1 approval interview in Almaty. The approval was received in October 2024, then there was a long period of gathering documents and waiting for the interview. I even got a bit stuck wondering if we were doing everything right. But I’m slowly coming back to myself and want to once again express huge gratitude to the chat and to Egor personally @e_akimov — I haven’t found that kind of support and amount of information anywhere else! So, a few words about how the interview in Almaty went on April 22. The consular officer seemed to be African American… honestly it felt like the answer was prepared in advance. The questions were: Tell us about yourself? What are you talented at? Where are you going? What are your plans. Tell us about the jury and the awards. I prepared about 10 hours beforehand)) and answered confidently and smoothly. They grilled my husband about his education. Too smart — a technical profession, plus postgraduate studies. He fended it off by saying he’s just a marketer, not related to that profession. They asked our 16-year-old son where he had traveled. He didn’t get flustered and started telling how he’d traveled all over Europe with me when I used to take him to masterclasses “as a child”) At that line she interrupted and said: “Your visas have been approved!” I nearly fainted at that moment! Right now we’re in the stage of planning our departure. I really want to encourage everyone who is still in the process of writing their petition!!! For us, the period from the start of writing the petition to having the visas pasted in took exactly 1 year.
