On my I-485 adjustment of status, the “case updated” note suddenly changed by itself, although the status stayed the same. They didn’t send any letters, and I didn’t write or call them. Has anyone encountered this? Does it mean anything at all, or is it just a technical glitch?
I had something similar — the petition number disappeared, then they assigned a new, different one. A notification showed up in my online account; at first I didn’t understand how that could be or what it meant. After that the I-485 approval came right away. So quiet changes without any letters aren’t always just a technical glitch — sometimes it means the officer actually looked into the case.
