Spanish 2-year visa — can I enter Italy?

I recently got a two-year Spanish visa that I haven’t used yet. Can I fly to Italy on it, for example via Turkey?

With a Spanish Schengen visa you can enter Italy — both countries are in the Schengen Area. The route via Turkey works: attach a ticket from Russia to Antalya, stay there for a week for example, and then go from Turkey to Italy — people do that. The only thing is the visa is unused: formally your first entry into the Schengen Area should be through Spain. If Italy is the main destination and you have documents proving it, they usually don’t give you trouble at the border.
