So I managed to get through to USCIS. A corrected I-797 arrived. Interestingly — my case was approved in Nebraska and the first (erroneous) I-797 was from there. The corrections and amendments were handled by Texas. I hope Texas will quickly forward the case to the NVC. In short — don’t give up and keep knocking.
