Can you tell me about Italo trains, the Economy fare? The website says that if you miss your train, you have 2 hours to catch the next one — you just need to contact the staff. Does whether they let you board depend on seat availability (i.e., will they only let you on if there’s a seat)? Or can you travel standing?
From experience with long-distance trains — seats are strictly assigned; you generally don’t travel standing, it’s not a commuter train. With Italo, if you’re late and contact the staff, they check for available seats on the next service. If the train is full, they may offer the next one or a refund. I wouldn’t count on being allowed to board without a seat.
