I’m trying to figure out what you need to provide at the medical exam for the I-693. Are vaccinations and basic tests everything, or is there anything else? If you’ve already gone through it, can you tell me whether that’s the full list of requirements or just part of it?
The list is long, but not all vaccinations are equally required — some depend on age. The civil surgeon looks at your record and decides what you need to make up and what’s already covered. If there’s no documentation for a particular vaccine, they do an antibody test, and if immunity is present that’s usually enough. Polio, by the way, is a separate story — you often have to go get it at a MinuteClinic, because not every place will do it.
Medical exam is usually standard — vaccinations, blood test, chest X-ray, tuberculosis test. But the civilian surgeon checks your medical chart and tells you what else needs to be added, so you can’t predict the whole list in advance. If you’re interested in where to go and how to deal with consulates — there’s an article on the forum here about medical exams in 11 cities; it might be useful)
By the way, if you don’t have vaccination records you can first get an antibody test, and if you have immunity that’s usually enough. Polio sometimes has to be done separately at a MinuteClinic — not every place will do it. So plan extra time in advance; it’s rare that everything gets done in one visit )
