I’m going to Italy on a tourist visa to get married. I’ve heard that if you get married within 3 months, you can immediately obtain a residence permit — is that how it works? What is this document called and where do you apply for it?
This method works, but one important detail — after the marriage you must submit the documents to the questura (квестура) within 7 days. It’s also better to arrive with an invitation from the groom that shows his address — that significantly simplifies the paperwork. At the questura they issue something like a guest card, which is the first document.
