How it all happened
The university was the patent holder; my colleagues and I were co‑authors. I attached two existing agreements at the filing stage showing the patent number, the amount and other terms, as well as a statement of work performed. One agreement was for the sale of the patent for implementation, the other for licensing/lease. The statement confirmed payment. But I provided all this not immediately, but in response to the NOID, where the officer wrote that patents are fine, but he did not understand their value.
