I applied for an O-1, answered an RFE, and still got a denial. Now they say I need to file an appeal — but what is that process even? Has anyone gone through this, tell me how long you had to wait and whether it’s worth it.
An AAO appeal is a long process—at least 6–8 months, sometimes more than a year. But it’s definitely worth pursuing—I remember a case where an O-1 was approved after an appeal about a year and a half later; the person gathered new recommendation letters to shore up the weak criteria and managed to get it approved. Don’t give up, an O-1 denial isn’t the end of the road)
