O-1 visa and I-693 — USSR vaccinations: what to do if there are no records?

I got an O-1 visa and am now filing for adjustment of status, and I ran into Form I-693 — it requires vaccinations. I had them as a child back in the USSR, and of course I don’t have any records. How do people usually get out of this situation? What does the doctor do at the medical exam in that case?

Without any paperwork, a civilian surgeon orders antibody titer tests — these are used to determine whether there is immunity to specific diseases. If the titers are within the normal range, they don’t revaccinate; they simply record the results on the form.

Do these antibody titers take a long time to process? I have an interview in a month — I’m afraid I won’t make it if I still have to wait for the test results.

A month is fine — results are usually ready within 3–7 days. Some doctors don’t order titers for every vaccine at all — that’s their personal practice, not a USCIS requirement. So you should make it to the interview without any problems.
