Moving to Italy — anyone know about Trieste and Friuli?

I’m looking at regions to move to and I was drawn to Friuli Venezia Giulia — it has a special autonomous status, access to the sea, and it seems closer to us than southern Italy. What do you think about Trieste as a place to live? Is there a Russian-speaking community there, and what are things like with jobs and housing?

By the way, Trieste is one of the closest options if you’re coming from Eastern Europe — the distance is actually less than to Rome or the south, which is an important criterion when you’re moving with kids and don’t want extra long drives. Housing is more attractive price-wise than in Milan or Venice, but the job market is smaller — it’s a better fit if you work remotely.
