I wanted to ask those who’ve already applied for the nomad visa — has there been a case where someone started out as self-employment (самозанятость) and then registered as an individual entrepreneur (ИП)? In our case it’s theoretically possible to have both legal statuses active at the same time — both self-employment and an IP — with contracts covering each. Has anyone gone through the process with this combination; do they accept that?
I’ve heard people also applied under lavoro autonomo (self-employment) — there were successful cases. If you also have an individual entrepreneur (ИП) running in parallel with real contracts for each status, that’s more of a plus — it shows intent and seriousness. An ИП in that sense isn’t a mandatory requirement, but it’s easier for the consulate when they see documented, stable income from multiple sources.

Better to have them different, of course — otherwise it looks strange: the same client pays you both as a self-employed person and as an individual entrepreneur (IP), which immediately raises the question why you have two statuses for one client. The consulate wants to see that the income is real and comes from different sources — that’s what shows credibility. If you do combine them, make sure the counterparties don’t overlap.
