I heard they updated the requirements for EB visas (employment-based visas) and that RFEs (Requests for Evidence) are now being issued to many people. Is that true or just rumors? If so, what exactly changed? Where can one read about this — are there any sources?
I recently received a notice that I have an RFIE for EB-2; I’m waiting for the actual letter. I’ve read that this can be technical — missing a signature, incorrect translation. It’s not the same as a regular RFE, which is already about qualifications and meeting the category. And the limits for employment-based visas have really dropped to about half of the peak — maybe that’s why they’ve started checking more strictly.
