We got an RFE — the officer explicitly stated that evidence of significance is needed. Now we’re trying to decide what exactly to submit: everyone says expert letters, but it’s unclear whether those are strictly required or if something else will suffice. Who’s gone through this — which documents from government sources actually helped?
I had a similar situation with an RFE for EB2-NIW, did it myself. They credited part of the first prong and the entire second, but the officer singled out national importance separately. Among the government documents — tax returns for several years in the U.S. really added weight, plus a letter from the employer stating the salary was much higher than the local market. We also prepared expert letters, but they mostly explained the context — official documents are the foundation; without them the letters hang in the air.
