Is it okay if my passport will have less than six months’ validity by the time of the green card interview? Or is that considered a problem? I have a new valid passport, but it wasn’t listed on the DS-160 — does that mitigate the situation or not?
They usually give about six months, but it’s better to check with the consulate and send everything a month before the deadline. If you don’t make it in time, they’ll make you go through it all again. Listing the new passport in the DS-160 is a separate matter — your lawyer should advise how to fill it out correctly.
