Can someone who knows advise — where exactly should I write about documents at the Department of State? I’m preparing for an interview at the consulate and don’t understand where the documents went and which specific department they went to. The Department of State is huge, there are tons of divisions. Does anyone know what the right department is called and how to get in touch with them?
Hang in there — I remember that panic when your documents are somewhere and you don’t know where to write. Usually email the address the consul gave you when they accepted the documents — they’ll forward it themselves if it’s not their department. You can also duplicate it via the “Contact Us” on CEAC; sometimes they reply faster that way )

In practice, you should write directly to the email address of the consulate where you applied; the Department of State is a general level — you won’t be able to reach a specific department that way. Duplication via CEAC makes sense when the main channel has been silent for more than a week.

An email only gets things moving once the deadline has actually been exceeded; for new applications the officer simply doesn’t respond to those emails.
