Interview in a third country — which to choose: Kazakhstan too or only Warsaw?

I just remembered I wanted to ask — maybe someone knows. For an interview in a third country, which should I choose: can I apply in Kazakhstan, or is only Warsaw available? I don’t really understand how this works and which locations are actually open.

By the way, there’s a nuance — you can’t transfer an interview from Warsaw to Astana at all if you don’t have a Kazakhstan residence permit (ВНЖ). So without a residence permit in Kazakhstan (КЗ) that option is off the table. But many people get through via Warsaw just fine; the main thing is to gather your documents and go calmly )

Warsaw is really the default — without a Kazakhstan residence permit there won’t be any transfer; there aren’t many options. I’ve read about long application processing (AP) in Astana — up to one and a half years, people literally get stuck for years. In Warsaw, of course, things happen too, but for most people the timelines are usually more predictable.

well, in Warsaw for most people everything goes smoothly if the documents are properly prepared. Astana is a lottery with long administrative procedures (АП), and without a residence permit (ВНЖ) you can’t move there — and it’s not even certain you’d want to. Don’t psych yourself out in advance, Warsaw is really a workable option)

I was torn too when I was choosing, but I eventually realized that the important thing is the documents, not the city. In Warsaw most people’s cases go smoothly if the paperwork is in order, while in Astana you can’t even apply without a residence permit. So don’t freak yourself out with scary stories — better spend the time on proper preparation.

I agree — Warsaw is the only option here if you don’t have a Kazakhstan residence permit.

I get it, it’s not an easy choice, but Warsaw is honestly a solid option — don’t overthink it )
