Has anyone checked whether Tinkoff is still covering airport lounges abroad after the sanctions? With Armenia it’s probably fine, but I’m not sure about farther countries — like Italy. I haven’t contacted support yet, but I want to sort it out in advance. Does anyone have any recent experience?
Listen, I wouldn’t rely on Tinkoff at all when you’re abroad — things have been unstable there since the sanctions. A friend of mine had her card simply not accepted at the lounge entrance in Malpensa last year, even though it had worked before. Better contact customer support and ask specifically about Priority Pass, but have a plan B just in case.
I actually had a Plan B too — I just bought a one-time pass on the spot; in Malpensa it costs something like €30–40 if I’m not mistaken. Not ideal, of course, but better than standing there and trying to figure out why the card won’t go through)
I have mixed feelings about using Russian cards in Italy — in shops and for regular bookings they worked fine, but for something specific like ticketing sites or topping up a SIM they didn’t. Lounges are a different story: the terminal via Priority Pass follows its own logic. I’d write to support and ask specifically about Malpensa — they usually reply directly whether the service is available or not.
