I heard that Italy is still issuing D visas for Russians, but I can’t find anything clear. Has anyone applied recently or knows what the situation is right now?
In Armenia I couldn’t apply for a D visa to Italy — for every inquiry the consulate sent me to Moscow. I applied there myself and decided not to take the risk. I heard about a case where a person with Armenian and Russian passports applied in Yerevan for a D visa and was refused.
Damn, thanks for letting me know. Is it actually possible to go to Moscow, or do they give people the runaround there too? I was counting on Yerevan, now I’m kinda having second thoughts.
Moscow — a stable option, Yerevan with a Russian passport is unpredictable. I heard about a case with an Israeli passport in Armenia — they issued it in 4 weeks without questions, so the consulate looks at the document, not the origin. In short, I wouldn’t bet on Yerevan without a second passport.
