US consulate interview questions for a tourist visa — will they grant a B-2 if I'm already waiting for an EB-1?

I think the category is fundamentally important here — O-1/O-4 is one thing, while immigrant EB-1/EB-2 is something else entirely. Is it even possible to get approved for a tourist visa if you’re already waiting for an immigrant visa E1-1/E1-4? At the consular interview the US officer will clearly ask about your intentions — so what should you answer?

I also really can’t get it — if the EB-1A petition has already been approved, what more do they want to hear at the interview? With a tourist visa it’s definitely a different story — there they explicitly ask about intent to return, and if you’re already waiting for an immigrant visa, that contradiction is obvious.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about — the contradiction is really obvious. Has anyone tried to get a B-2 after already having an approved EB-1A petition? How did it turn out?

Kinda a sketchy situation — I saw someone with an approved EB-1A get a B-2 in Warsaw; he honestly said he had a petition and was waiting for an interview. The main thing is not to be evasive.
