Does anyone know how to schedule an interview at the U.S. consulate in Rome or Madrid? The lawyer says it’s done through agents and bots. Does anyone have contacts for such people?
In Madrid I booked an O-1 through an agent — you can’t get a slot yourself, they’re snapped up in seconds. Look for contacts for people like that in immigration forums; they pop up there from time to time. I can’t say about Rome, I have no experience.

400 for a slot is about the average price — in Madrid I’ve heard it goes up to 600 in the hot months. I didn’t go through an agent myself; DV (Diversity Visa) is arranged differently, but the gist is the same — a slot lives for seconds and you won’t catch one without an insider. The main thing: before paying, ask for screenshots as confirmation — there have been cases where they took the money and disappeared )

Screenshots before payment are the bare minimum — I’ve seen a couple of cases where the agent disappeared after the wire transfer.
